Now in the twelfth month, that is, the month of Adar, on the thirteenth day, the time came for the king’s command and his decree to be executed. On the day that the enemies of the Jews had hoped to overpower them, the opposite occurred, in that the Jews themselves overpowered those who hated them. Esther 9:1 NKJ
The previous story, from the book of Esther, has been commemorated since the time of Esther through celebrating the Feast of Purim, which occurred from the evening of March 2 to the evening of March 3, in 2026. This was a time when their enemy, Haman, who is a type of Satan in this story, planned for the destruction of the Jews. But because of God’s divine intervention, using Esther and Mordecai, the people were saved from destruction and it came on their enemies instead. Often, I have noticed that around the Jewish holidays or feast days, the Lord often does similar things in the lives of those who serve Him today. The following is a testimony of what the Lord has done in our lives during this time.
As I have shared previously, my husband was diagnosed with stage four prostate cancer about one year ago. We tried ivermectin and other natural remedies and a plant-based diet for several months with good results and then his pain level began to increase and his ability to walk became greatly impaired. One night I dreamed three or four times that I saw him trying to walk using walking canes (canes with braces on the arms that one holds onto in order to walk, which he later told me he thought he needed). He was having a really hard time and in each dream, it seemed he got worse until he was dragging his legs and couldn’t walk at all. Of course I prayed against it, but I felt the Lord was telling me that we needed to do something more than what we were doing.
A bone scan confirmed what we suspected and that was that the cancer had spread into his back, etc., in spite of the fact that his PSA levels had decreased (which would normally indicate that the cancer was shrinking). The oncologist explained that not all cancers give off a PSA. He also stated that if we did not do something about it, my husband could become a paraplegic. After praying about it, we decided to go with the doctor’s recommendation, which was two weeks of radiation, followed by chemotherapy. After two weeks of radiation and two rounds of chemotherapy, I am happy to report that my husband’s pain level has decreased by about 30% and he still has several months of chemotherapy to go.
I know that God does still heal people supernaturally and that is what we have prayed for, but I am thankful for healing in whatever form the Lord chooses to give it.
After we first found out that my husband had cancer, he had a dream that he was walking out on a bridge away from a college or university, like he was going on a nature walk. He then decided to turn around and go back towards the college. About that time, a giant toad or frog that weighed about 500 pounds jumped on the railing and said “I’m going to kill you.” My husband, Tim, reached into his back pocket and pulled out a pair of plyers. He said “I’m not afraid of you, I will pull out all of your teeth.” He then proceeded to go back to the college and just before going into the lab, he realized he was holding the frog by it’s neck, but it had shrunk down to about 12 inches long. When the frog realized that he was about to take him into the lab, my husband said, the frog got so scared, it peed in his hand.
I believe that frog represented the cancer that was trying to take my husband out. We tried taking a natural approach (going on a nature walk), but when that didn’t seem to be working anymore, he turned back towards the university, which I believe represented the medical field. And I believe the Lord was showing us that this is the approach we would take in order to see the cancer lose it’s grip and eventually be destroyed. I know the Lord could have healed him supernaturally without us going this route, but for whatever reason, this is how the Lord has directed us and we have seen things start to turn around. Praise the Lord! Just as the Lord turned the tables on the enemies of Queen Esther and the Jews at the time of Purim and they saw the destruction of their enemies, I believe the Lord has turned the tables for us on cancer. I pray that this would be a time of turn around for all God’s people. God bless you all.
